HELLO AND WELCOME
Tall, lean, and rocking that silver fox hair, SEAN GUNNELL enjoys the simple things in life, like a fresh cup of french roast coffee in the morning, ocean swimming in the afternoon, and a movie at night. He is also someone who likes to absorb and relish in the unusual thrills, like designing and building haunted houses, and cliff jumping from heights of 50+ feet into lakes. Harmony and balance is Sean's mantra, especially regarding the importance and necessity of living passionately and logically, both of which help him forge his career as an actor.
Sean is professionally trained for the screen and stage, and has been based in Los Angeles since 2014. His major principal film credits have been in the form of two TV movies: Drone Wars, available to stream on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, and Dangerous Medicine, airing on the Lifetime Movie Network on March 5, 2021. He has leading and supporting credits in three indie feature films that will be releasing in 2021, including Knucks (which has a distribution deal set for limited theatrical release), and his first co-starring role in Laugh Now, Cry Later. In 2017, he starred in the short film Collar, directed by Russ Emanuel (Occupants, American Wisper), which has been officially selected by nearly 150 film and awards festivals worldwide, and of which Sean has been nominated for 17 Best Actor accolades, proudly winning 10 of them. Recent regional and local theatre credits of principal and featured roles include Private Mason in Ross Valley Players' critically acclaimed Journey's End (Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle winner for Best Ensemble), Patrick Wojtowicz in Pop Up Theatre Inc.'s original immersive production The Gypsy Machine, and Clifford Bradshaw in Simi Valley Cultural Art Center's Cabaret.
Sean trained in San Francisco at both the Academy of Art University (receiving his BFA in Acting under the guidance of the School of Acting's department founder Diane Baker) and The Meisner Technique Studio (learning from Jim Jarrett, Sanford Meisner's last teaching protege). Amongst the skills in his artistic toolkit, he has studied advanced stage acting and Shakespearean performance with Andrew Hurteau, Emotional Recall with Melissa Gray, and audition technique with Laura Henry, rounding Sean out so that he can be adaptive, seasoned, and prepared for every stage of performance.
Coming off of the heels of his most successful year yet, Sean has his 2021 eyes set on representation across the board, a guest spot on a television series, and a principal role in a national commercial, to name a few goals. He is about setting intentions he can achieve that are realistic to his current career standing, but he never plateaus his vision to comfortably settle. Everything that Sean does with his career is about continually climbing up his ladder, staying in his lane, and ascending his artistic Everest, because at the end of day being authentic and stoking his spark of madness will forever be the fuels to his fire. Harmony and balance, the keys to Sean's kingdom. Let's play!
